Metra 95-6549 1997-2002 Jeep Wrangler DDIN in-Dash Install Kit

This kit is specific to the early model Jeep TJ (97-02) so if you try and use it on a later model don't come in here blowing up the feedback because it doesn't fit right. That said, it works fine, fits fine, looks pretty ok, and doesn't rattle. It uses fewer fasteners to attach than the OEM panel but seems to be fine, and it also eliminated the ash tray if that's of some concern to you. The instructions included are pretty lacking, but it does come with good hardware and instructional videos are available on youtube. I purchased a radio with a double din screen but a single din chassis, so I didn't have to cut my dash frame as shown in the instructions, but I did have to cut the radio mounting "ears" from the kit a little bit. Overall it was an easy installation but I did this for a living when I was a kid so i'm not a novice installer. Your results may vary based on your skill level and the radio you choose to install.

It does require trimming and some basic skills but after a little work it looks great.

I installed this in my 2000 Jeep Sahara with a Pioneer AVH-1400NEX radio. No trimming of the opening was needed and it looks just like the stock bezel. Had to play with the radio sides to get the height and depth correct for the opening but it worked nicely. The only issue I have is that the A/C vents don't fit perfectly. In the stock bezel, the round things that the vent clips two are two different sizes. On one side of each vent, the round thing is a little larger than the other. This is probably to make sure it's in the correct position. On this bezel, they're both the smaller size, so the vent is a little loose on one side. Not a huge deal but it's worth mentioning.

It’s not an exact fit for the 7 inch flat screen radio had to cut the frame out a little bit. Also I don’t like it did not have a screw bracket behind the ashtray to hold the dash other than that it does fit the dash right and the ac controls just fine

Overall great. Perfect fit. Does not include clips to attach bottom of dash. Had to take clips off of old dash to use to clip it in place.

Kit works and looks amazing! Take your time cutting out the dash, use the radio that you will be putting in to measure the area to cut. The radio will set a little off due to the dash itself but some washers and it will be flush and straight. Oh and when you transfer the spring clips off of the old panel to the new one glue them on or they will come off if you remove the panel in the future.

This thing is a piece of garbage!! Does not fit as you would expect, none of the holes line up with the components in the dash, the bottom does not click back in to stay in place once you have installed the factory clips on it!! Do not buy it!!

Excelente quality

Overall very happy very good brand. Only complaint is the right hand pocket doesn’t stay snapped in. Manufacturer should have provisioned a screw to hold it in place like the top compartment.
