MG s Polyimide tape is the perfect accessory for your heated build platform. Polyimide tape is 1 mil thick layer of Polyimide film. The tape also has a 1 mil thick layer of silicone adhesive. Polyimide tape is widely used because of it's ability to withstand the heating and cooling of a build platform. Certain plastics such as ABS filament and HIPS Support material adhere particularly well to Polyimide tape making it perfect to use when a heated build platform is required. ABS filament will have full adhesion to the Kapton tape at the high build plate temperature required, but it will also release the printed part when the bed cools. The print will be easy to peel or pop right off making Polyimide tape the practical choice for any 3D printer build plate. •Dimensions: 4" wide by 49' long •1 mil Polyimide film •1 mil Silicone adhesive •2 mil total thickness Dry Application The dry method involves slowly rolling back and applying the tape while using a straight edge such as a ruler or a putty to squeeze any bubbles or smooth s from the tape. Wet Application (recommended) Spray a little soapy water on the build plate before applying the Polyimide tape. The soapy water allows you to easily repostion the tape and squeeze any air bubbles away. Roll on the Polimide tape and cut off excess material. Using a straight edge such as a ruler or a putty to squeeze any bubbles or smooth s from the tape. You can also reposition the tape on your build plate if needed. Let the Polyimide tape fully dry before printing.
