CritterCord citrus cord cable protector 10 feet for rabbits cats dogs pets up to 14 guage

I have a cat that likes to chew cables. Over the years, he has killed many phone, laptop, and electrical cables... unless they're wrapped in this cable protector. I have been using this product for years. I can never have enough of it in my house. Any time I get a new appliance or electrical cord that is going to spend a significant amount of time out in the open - especially if it's in a non-standard, difficult-to-replace format - it gets wrapped in CritterCord. I probably own around 50+ feet worth of the stuff by now. When you first open the box, you'll notice it has a strong smell. This becomes imperceptible after a few hours of use, so don't worry, but the protective quality remains. The protector itself can be cut with a standard pair of scissors - it's not trivially easy, but it's doable, so you don't need special tools to size it correctly for your cable. It's a slight pain to put it on the cable itself in that it takes a few minutes of work, but this means that once the cable is protected it isn't going to slip off by accident. Lastly, the protector itself is completely reuseable. If you have a cable you've protected for a few years that you're retiring for some reason other than chewing, you can take the protector off and apply it to some other cord with no real loss of functionality. The only real drawback is that it makes some cords slightly less portable. If you have a laptop that you travel with and you protect the cord, it's going to take up a little bit more space in your bag. In general this is far preferrable to having to replace the cord, so I consider the trade worthwhile. Well worth the money. If you have a problem with pets that like chewing cables, this will likely solve the issue.

Great! My cat stopped chewing my lamp cable immediately I attached it, however the smell made me feel really nauseous. So much so I’ve had to remove it. The smell permeated the whole first floor of my house. But I do have a particularly strong sense of smell. However, leaving in for two weeks broke the chewing habit. So I’ve saved it in case I need in the future.

Great product and works very well for one rabbit but the other rabbit is more determine and will chew it, although she don’t get through to the wires so it still works

Recently got a young kitten and installed the cords around the flat the week before we picked up the kitten. Ocassionally we noticed the smell of the cords, however it wasn't as overpowering as some of the reviews suggest and the citrus smell itself was actually quite nice. Additionally, the Critter cord has been useful in organising our cables! Since we have gotten the kitten, the smell alone seems to have deterred her from chewing or going to near the cables, so it has definitely done the mjob it was intended for!

Feel absolutely let down by this product. To protect our beloved rabbit from an electric shock and also to protect out valuable electrics we have purchased 3 boxes of your product. From the first moment we were disgusted by it's smell(made the room smell like a dirty public toilet) but we thought it's a price to pay to keep the bunny and the cables safe. So we started living with windows open. But today our bunny became really poorly and quiet. And THEN we realised that he chewed and probably ate some of your chord protector while destroying an important cable as well. I am mad about your product NOT WORKING. I am upset about the cable being destroyed causing us financial damage. But I am absolutely furious that my rabbit is poorly. I fuming.

The lemon scent was nice but this did nothing to deter my rabbit from cables - if anything, it made her love chewing them even more as she started eating the protector and then the cable underneath. Please be careful if you have a persistent animal as this may not work for yours.

There was a quite strong lemon scent initially but I believe that also helps to keep the rabbits away. The scent has faded enough for me to know longer notice and the bunnies no longer chew the wires. Easy to apply.
