This is a very good buy if you have a parrot 🦜 but not for budgies 😏

Could be better with a natural branch
Nice swing, could be better if had a natural wood branch instead of dowel type wood. My budgies sleep on swings overnight and a natural branch is better for their feet and more comfy so I replaced dowel wood for natural.

Small but does the job.
Two canaries fought over one large swing so I bought this one. It was very small but thankfully it fits nicely in another space at the top of cage and Mrs Chips seems to love it.

Great for the garden
Bought this for the garden so the parrots could come and sit and eat their food. It’s lovely to see them sit on the swing. Very well-made and strong.

Works well with bigger dowel.
I was looking for a smaller swing as the swing I had restricted my canarys' flying space. He needs a bigger cage. This is OK it's small and neat it is just big enough . If you have a large canary or big English or show budgie I don't think it's big enough. The wire is bent round and terminates into two right-angle bends and about 10mm of sharpish wire fits into the dowel at each end. I had to squeeze the wire to insure a decent fit. OK so far it feels solid enough though the shackle at the top is a bit cheap but it will do the job for 50g of canary! My main problem is the diameter of the dowel. It's about 12mm hard and smooth. It also revolves easily. Now many sources seem to say anything from 10mm up to 18mm is OK but this dowel is hard and smooth and my tiny Fife(ish) canary clearly prefers his perches to be a knobbly 12mm up. Although he seems OK with a smooth dowel 16mm or so. after a few modifications he has returned to swinging.
