So how well has this switch been holding up for those that own it? i plan on using it for 6-7 poe cameras. anyone out there using it for this purpose?

I've had a Trendnet TPE160H POE unit for over 7 years now running up to 6 cameres 24/7 without a hitch.

I have cameras with lights. Will the lights come on with this product?

PoE+ Supplies up to 30 Watts of PoE power per port with a 123 Watt power budget - I would say no, unless the camera lights are designed to work off of the camera's PoE budget... I highly doubt this would work.

What if i would plug non poe devices into this switch? for example a smart tv, a blu-ray player, and a desktop computer, and then poe security cam?

What you described will work just fine. Though, given your scenario, this seems like a pricy option if you only need to power one PoE device. I suggest looking into PoE injectors in conjunction with a non PoE switch; it will likely be cheaper. Stick with a PoE switch if you plan on adding more than one PoE device or don't mind the higher price. I've been using this switch for over a year and it works great! Gets a little warm as it doesn't possess active cooling (fans) but I'm also pushing the PoE power draw limitations of this switch.

Worked great, just plug and play. Installed in the garage for my poe security cameras. I like that it has no fan, so it runs silent, and save abit of energy not having the fan running 24/7. Heat-wise, the unit does not even get warm despite 7 poe cameras being plugged in. The only thing that is a slight inconvenience is that the power supply comes from an external power block that is simular in design to a laptop charger, so had to make a spot to mount it to the wall beside the switch.
