BiOrb 46132.0 Sea Star Rock Ornament Aquariums

This is a very beautiful centerpiece for your BioOrb. I have the 4 gallon size and it fits nicely, but does take up quite a bit of space in the aquarium. However, I'd still recommend it.

Broken

perfect addition to my Biorb life tank. It adds so much character and beauty, im so glad I ordered this!! I’ll have to see how easy it is to clean, but I think with a good soak it will be easy. Packaging was a bit tricky to unbox but overall made sure the decor wasn’t damaged during shipping. On the more expensive side as well but it fits perfectly in my tank <3

I am so happy I purchased this ! I absolutely love it . It fits perfectly in my biorb 30 . I tried other center pieces but you could always see the tube in the middle . This hides the tube and it looks really pretty. The product arrived quickly without any issues . Thank you

We kept it because we are impatient but all the star fish legs were broken. It hides the tube well & the frog likes resting on it

The item itself is lovely but unfortunately we order this item twice and both times the item arrived damaged. It is screwed to the base of the bottom of the packaging and appears the item is ripped off the bottom and then gets knocked around in the plastic tube box and causes damage. Such a shame. Hopefully in future the packaging will be reconsidered with bubble wrap/air wrap to help avoid this happening . Not the sellers fault, just the way it is sold in the tube box , otherwise this is a lovely item so still gets 5 stars

EDIT: I reviewed this in March (original review below) and was very unhappy. It’s now April and I’m livid. Do NOT buy this. In the last 3 weeks, after dealing with huge amounts of hair algae that appeared shortly after putting this in my tank, things started going black, like a sooty tint on the glass, on the ceramic material, plants etc. Couldn’t find any idea what it could be. I’ve just cleaned the tank and started scrubbing the ornament - due to the design, all the MANY nooks and crannies are hot spots for algae, I bought a small brush (think baby sized toothbrush) to get in them without damaging the stars (as people mentioned how fragile they are) Now, this brush is not hard, it is gentle enough to rub algae off plants without damaging them, yet when trying to clean this ornament THE COLOUR IS STRIPPING STRAIGHT OFF! So the ‘soot’ was the paint dissolving in the water! Horrific! Original review: Start with the most important thing - typical BiOrb: beautiful to look at but badly designed. I had a poorly molly that was euthanised as a result of the gaps between the shape of this item and the bubble tube. She was unwell but had been improving until she got wedged in a gap, most likely due to flashing. I found her in the morning, still alive, and gently extracted her but she was no longer able to swim or stay upright, she had damage to her scales, gills and eyes, I guess from struggling as she was trapped. Secondly, I don’t know if I received a secondhand item or it’s something to do with the materials but since adding it to my tank 3 weeks ago, I’ve now got hair algae forming all over it. This has been the only change to the tank in several months; other than losing the molly and I doubt she was keeping the whole tank clear by herself. Either way, the beautiful grey ornament is now green. Most of the stars for this item are due to packaging, because it was extremely well packaged, but I really regret buying it and it is definitely not worth the price. In fact, I used a gift card but even paying half the cost, it wasn’t worth it.
