Got this as a birthday gift to my mom who has been wanting a Mahjong set for a while. A couple of points to bring up: Firstly, I want to mention how carefully it was packaged. The case was completely encased in foam. Huge fan of that considering how much money you're dropping on this set. Secondly, the case itself is beautiful and well made. Not sure if its real leather but its very well made. The tiles are also in top condition, being all wrapped up together to keep them from banging around during transport. The third and final point, the instructions. The instructions are extensive but very easy to read and in proper english, too, which is very important considering my mom has never played mahjong and it is a vastly different game then what shes used to. 10/10 product

Great set. Solid feel and characters are well engraved. At 34mm, the tiles feel natural and has a good weight. I was looking specifically for Chinese set, and didn't want Arabic numbers or letters. I was a bit surprised the set didn't come with playing chips. But that's easily replaced. I would have preferred a plain green back, but the bamboo design is fine. This was one of the few sets that met my size criteria and tiles are clearly written.

This is a beautiful Mahjong set. The tiles are of great quality and don’t scratch, and the case holds everything really well. I just started learning how to play, and the tiles are so satisfying to use. I really like that they don’t have Arabic numbers on them (only the flower tiles do) so that I can learn the Chinese numbers. I don’t use the flower ones anyways when playing Chinese Mahjong. I read in some other comments that people thought the case was flimsy, but it’s actually very sturdy, and I love the color and design. One of my favorite parts is putting all the tiles back in order inside the case after we play. I also love the little Sun Wukong sticker it comes with!

Very nice sized tiles, adequate instructions for a beginner. Carrying case is fair quality, but most likely will not use, but will bag my tiles. Very happy with this purchase.

Set does not have the four trays typically found for storing tiles in case and for each player to use during the game for holding your game chips. we bought this set for our son and daughter-in-law so we wouldn't have to cart our set over every time we visit and get a hankering to play a game. Heavy, well made, engraved markings so the face won't wear off in a lifetime of play. clearly painted without smudges or flaws but i would be wary of the permanence of the paint. Looks just like our set we got from Singapore but when I dunked our set in a dishpan of mild liquid dish soap and water to handwash sticky fingerprints off, the paint washed out of the engravings of one or two when I rubbed them dry. To wash greasy or sticky off I would recommend blotting gently to dry or leave them in the dish drainer to air dry. Tiles size are considered the "medium" size as sets go. Shipped in 2 days as promised. (I have Prime) Excellent shipping package! Tightly packed in moulded foam box within a sturdy cardboard box meant the heavy item was secure for shipping and less likely to rattle around causing chipping of dice or tiles. Set has vinyl over cardboard composition case with sturdy snaps but the set is heavy so I could see where the vinyl would wear out and break along the seams over time. That's ok because we have a woodworker friend who makes beautiful cedar cases for all of his playing friends' sets. He carves a large wind or dragon of choice into the top,lines the trays and inside of the case with felt; each has a closing accessory compartment for storing dice, wind indicator and blank spare tiles. He is going to build a custom case for this set too as it is going to be a christmas gift to our son. I really think this set makes a nice gift with or without friends building custom cases but what would anyone do for trays if they didn't have talented woodcrafting friends? Trays are a part of the game accessories like the wind indicator. I suppose you could glue together some from craft board but since the tiles fit tightly and snugly in the case as-is, it could be an even tighter squeeze to keep the snaps snapped and the case closed A bit odd.

bought this for my parents who want to improve their memory and keep their minds active. I hope they will enjoy it. It seems very good, and I like that the pieces are not too small.
